Turbo Tax – Probably not a good idea

If we are to believe the new Treasury Secretary, Timothy Geithner, the reason he did not pay his self employment tax is because he used Turbo Tax four years in a row and Turbo Tax did the tax returns wrong.

I have been preaching for years that off the shelf programs may be good for simple returns but once you have self employment income, rental properties and other income and expense streams you will likely save money and definitely time by using a professional.
